Foxy’s Upside Down Grocery Store – Food Bank Collection!
It’s only a few weeks until Christmas (sorry) – and Foxy’s Upside Down Grocery Store is now open for business at the studio. What is is? It’s a collection for the Clevedon area food bank. We’re not selling anything, we’re inviting you to donate a few cupboard staples. You can drop off the goodies at the studio, and we will be making a delivery in a couple of weeks. For the groceries to reach where their needed in time for Christmas, we’d encourage you to drop off your stuff in the FIRST TWO WEEKS of DECEMBER. Any other supplies after this date will be donated after Christmas (but will still get to where they’re going).
These are the particularly handy things for the bank to receive:
- Cereals
- Soup (tin or packet)
- Rice, pasta
- Pasta sauces
- Milk (UHT or powdered)
- Sugar
- Long life fruit juice
- Jam
- Biscuits or snack bars
- Tea bags, instant coffee
- Instant mashed potato
- Toilet rolls
- Washing powder
- Toothpaste, toothbrushes
- Shower gel/soap/shampoo
- Tins of:
- Rice pudding
- Custard
- Sponge pudding
- Meat
- Fish

Oh pants! It’s nearly Christmas!
I’ve just heard the first Christmas advert on the radio, and that means this post is OK.
Our esteemed charity partner, It’s In The Bag (you know, they of the orange pantage) have been nominated to be a possible recipient of the proceeds of the annual #FatherBristmas prize draw. You’ll guess with what they did there, it’s a local thing. Votes need to be in by Sunday 19th October. You can vote for them here: http://bristol52.co.uk/2014/fatherbristmas-is-back/ And whyever not? After all, as well as It’s In The Bag doing a tremendous job in raising awareness of testicular cancer, they’re even more fun than a box of OompaLoompas. You know it.
The future’s bright, the future’s got orange pants on.
Oh yeah, and don’t forget we’ve got some lovely It’s In The Bag merchandise in the studio, great for stocking fillers. What could be more festively appropriate than handing your chap a pair of orange pants and exhorting him to ‘check his balls’ over the sprouts and turkey this Christmas?

October is Adopt A Shelter Dog Month. Although we can’t imagine anyone NOT wanting Sean the Fox Cycling Dogg, this was the case; so we took him home, freeing up a place in shelter for another unwanted dog.
Shelter dogs – the ultimate life improvement specialists!
Since being privileged with having a greyhound in my life, I have learned that there is a difference between what we typically perceive to be cats and dogs, and what is actually the case, thanks to my greyhound Seón for the clarification. The correct classification with sub-categories is as follows:

It’s soft fruit season – check your plums!
It’s that time of year again. Gooseberry fool, raspberry jam more preserves than a chap knows what to do with. And what else? It’s In The Bag (testicular cancer charity we’re supporting with this year’s Vuelta a Fox) would like you to ‘Pledge to Check’ your plums, old bean.
Although testicular cancer survival rates are pretty good – they’d be even better if chaps checked their charlies every month. That’s why they’re running their Pledge to Check campaign. It’s easy to check, but less easy to remember; so when you sign up they’ll send you a monthly reminder by your chosen method (not including unicorn-delivery) so you don’t even need to try to remember! Hurrah!
What are you checking for? And how?
